PRIVACY STATEMENT

 

Data Protection Act 1998

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, we have a legal duty to protect any personal information we collect from you.

- We will only use personal information you supply to us for the reason that you provided it for.

- We will only hold your information for as long as necessary to fulfil that purpose.

- We will not pass your information to any other parties (including other Council departments) unless this is made clear to you at the time you supplied it.

All employees and contractors who have access to your personal data or are associated with the handling of that data are obliged to respect your confidentiality. You agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself in any registration or subscription form you complete ("the Registration Information").

You agree to maintain and promptly update the Registration Information to keep it true, accurate, current and complete.

CCC is registered under, and will process your personal data in accordance with, data protection legislation.

You hereby agree that the Registration Information (and all updates of the Registration Information) and any other information sent to CCC by you or otherwise obtained by CCC about you ("the Personal Data") may be processed by CCC for the purposes of:

(a) processing your requests;

(b) providing you with information by email or other means;

(c) providing you with information about products and services of CCC and other parties;

(d) providing a personalised service;

(e) maintaining accounts and records;

(f) administration of membership records;

(g) statistical analysis and conducting market research surveys;

(h) assessing and evaluating the use that is being made of the Site; and

(i) information and databank compilation and administration.

The processing of the Personal Data may involve CCC disclosing your details to regulatory bodies and/or other third parties. If you do not wish your Personal Data to be disclosed in this manner, please make this clear by sending an appropriately worded message to CCC.

You also consent to the transfer, storage and processing of the Personal Data to/in countries outside the European Economic Area. Your Personal Data may therefore be processed in countries where the rights and benefits conferred on data subjects may not be as favourable as in the UK and the European Union. If you would prefer not to have your Personal Data transferred in this way, please make this clear by sending an appropriately worded message to CCC.

 

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of information that is stored on your computer's hard drive by your web browser.  This is used by computers which host our website to help us understand how the site is used.  These cookies do not identify you, but help us to monitor the website usage so we can:

- See which pages are seldom or never visited

- See how extensively the website is used

General

If there is any conflict between these terms and specific terms appearing elsewhere on the Site then these terms shall prevail.

If any of these terms are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then to the extent and within the jurisdiction in which that term is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and the remaining terms shall survive, remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.

These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
